Beaulieu has implemented plant-wide practices which redirect all cardboard, paper, plastic, metal, yarn, sheer lint and industrial waste for reuse or recycling keeping more than 80% of it from landfill. We use biodegradable dye elements and cleaners for all manufacturing equipment and recycle waste dye into black dye colour for the area rug business. In a recent agreement with Ciment St-Laurent,all of Beaulieu Canada’s waste carpet trimmings will be redirected to local facilities to be burned as a source of energy, helping to reduce gas and oil consumption.
Using our resources to protect natural resources.
Protecting the world’s natural resources is integral to all that we do. In the hard surfaces product lines that we distribute, Beaulieu Canada does not distribute any exotic wood floor species that come from illegally logged, clear-cut rainforests. Our engineered wood flooring products require less lumber to produce the final product compared to other hardwood options, and the core and back ply layers can include any wood species, therefore there is less overall waste.
Our Berry Floor laminate, with its small environmental footprint, makes perfect eco-sense. It is mostly made from recycled wood fibre, is FSC certified ensuring that it comes from a sustainably managed forest, uses resins that are water-based and is manufactured in an ultra-modern, energy efficient facility. Berry Floors are installed glue-free and are re-usable allowing for multiple installations.
