Beauflor Maintenance

Beauflor products, like any floor covering material, needs to be properly maintained to stay beautiful. The following are a few guidelines to follow:

Initial Maintenance (within 24 hours of installation)

• Keep traffic light during the first 24 hours so adhesive can dry properly.
• If the floor has been seamed, avoid stepping on the seam for 24 hours.
• Avoid scrubbing or washing your floor for at least 3 days after installation. Spot clean floor with a Swiffer® or equivalent, avoiding all seams.
• When moving heavy furniture or appliances across the floor, always use wood or hardboard runways to protect the floor.

Routine Maintenance (recommended weekly minimum)

• Regularly sweep your floor with a soft bristle broom to remove dirt and grit to prevent scratches.
• ‘Mop” the floor with a ‘Swiffer’®, using a mild neutral detergent (or clear, non-sudsy ammonia and warm water) to remove dirt and grime.
• Rinse with clean water.
• Wipe up spills with a clean white cloth dampened with warm water.
• Never use abrasive or acid based cleaners, soaps, paste waxes, solvents or “mop and shine” products, as they can leave a film that will discolour the floor or make it appear dull.
• When vacuuming do not use a vacuum with a rotary beater bar as it may damage the surface of the material.
• Do not use wax or polish. Do not buff.
• Beauflor, like other types of smooth floors, can become slippery when wet. Allow time for the floor to dry after washing, wipe up any wet areas from spills of foreign substances and wet feet.
